Saltwater Yogini and Certified Pilates Teacher, Marion Clark has been a student of The Method: Pilates since 2000. Her credentials include Pilates Mat (December 2002) and Apparatus (March 2003), through The PhysicalMind Institute. She has continued her Pilates education through The PhysicalMind, Stott Pilates, and Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI). Her areas of continued focus are gait analysis and physical therapy protocols (Osteoporosis and Scoliosis). Marion has also developed a series of sport-specific Pilates workouts for board riders (snowboarding, surfing, wake-boarding, skate boarding, etc.) to help them balance their bodies and train for their sports. She has worked with professional and amateur surfers and snowboarders, Olympic rowers, and weekend warriors. Marion also has experience working with pre- and post-natal Pilates clients.
Marion is also a Certified Yoga Teacher, earning her 200-hour training through Harmony Yoga in 2005. She deepened her Yoga education with Jill Miller's Yoga Tune-Up and Annie Carpenter's SmartFLOW Yoga teacher training. Marion brings over 4,000 hours of Yoga study, hands-on teaching, and personal inquiry to every class she leads. She currently teaches classes at Harmony Yoga in Redondo Beach and The YogaLoft in Manhattan Beach. Her classes are based on the Vinyasa style of Yoga: continuous movement from pose to pose linked with breath to create a flow that can be tailored to an individual's unique needs.
Marion's passion is the sea. She uses her body-mind training to ride giant swells of water all along the coast of California and Hawai'i. She owns the largest surf school in California, Surf Academy Collective, and a sister non-profit, The Surf Bus Foundation. If Marion is missing in action from Pilates and Yoga, it's because she is on the beaches of Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, or Huntington Beach, cheering for private students, leading summer surf camps, or ushering the inner-city youth of Los Angeles into the ocean for their first-EVER saltwater experience.
Jenna Anderson Restrepo began her career in strength and movement in 2003 when she worked as a personal trainer specializing in rehabilitation. She moved quickly into Pilates and Yoga and found her true passion: combining flowing movement with strength and spirituality. She moved to Boulder, Colorado to study at The Pilates Center and graduated in 2006. She will soon complete her Master's Certification in Pilates. In November 2009 she took her Yoga/meditation practice a step deeper and ventured to India to do a three-month teacher training program while living in an ashram. There, she studied the ancient spiritual texts, meditaion, and the eight limbs of Yoga, including Yoga asana. In September 2010, Jenna returned to India to study advanced pranayama and meditation techniques. She is adept at working safely with injuries and has worked extensively with pre- and post-natal Pilates and Yoga. Over the years, she has studied under Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea, and Annie Carpenter. She also enjoys practicing Kundalini Yoga at Golden Bridge.
